Saratoga
Dubbing itself "the city in the country,"
Saratoga Springs is 33 miles west of the Battenkill Preserve. It boasts many of the same kinds of attractions and amenities one might expect in a larger metropolitan area but with a loveliness and pace you can only find in more rural settings. Local monuments and battlefields commemorate the pivotal role that Saratoga played in the American Revolution. This "Queen of Spas" is renowned as a health resort, thanks to its natural mineral spring waters. Many visitors, of course, come to Saratoga because it is also a world-famous center for horseracing. But it is also known for its performing arts, shops, restaurants, parks, bistros, and architecture. You name it Saratoga has got it!
