Pheasant

Phasianuss Colchicus

The ring-necked pheasant is one of the world's most beautiful birds. It is a species of upland game bird native to Asia, but now successfully established throughout the United States.

They like weedy fence rows, brushy wood, and ditch banks for cover and escape. Successful hunting strategies for pheasant often include either pointing dogs or flushing dogs. These birds are very crafty and can often outsmart even the most experienced hunters. They love to run and will do so even in the slightest amount of cover.
